Skyrocketing student loans are a debt mostly on the shoulders of millennials, the poorest generation, it has been argued. The possibility of debt write-offs, which is being heard more and more, has far-reaching economic and social consequences. However, is it enough to completely disregard a university placement? The answer is, of course not.
The experience of university is one that should be treasured. Not only does it give you the opportunity to learn and grow and accomplish what you desire, but you can make friends for life. It is a learning experience not only in education but in life. University tuition fees can hit thousands and whilst once upon a time higher education was only for the wealthy, it can in fact be for those with lower income families. Thanks to grants and loans, there is a way for all people with the knowledge, to be able to get access to education. The fees naturally add up, from tuition, to University Accommodation to food, living costs, supplies and more. But there are ways to budget and even make money as a student.
Discounts and promotions for students – Before you go to a neighborhood restaurant or buy coffee on the street, do a review. Are there discounts for students, does the bank allow you to receive certain discounts for students? Check if the cellular or Internet companies offer special benefits for students.
Look for cheap entertainment – how much money do you spend on going to movies, pubs and clubs? It is very important to have an abundant social life when you are not in front of your books, but you do not have to spend a lot of money to enjoy.
Get a part time job -if your university course isn’t too hectic, then spending a few hours working in a cafe or a shop could earn extra bucks. You could choose any job, even one related to your course, so that you can learn and grow constantly.
Scholarships – Search the web and ask at the academic institution how you can get a scholarship for your studies, if this is an option for you. You may be surprised at what benefits you could achieve from this.
Shared Wi-Fi – Usually, in the area of academic institutions there are entire buildings of students living in adjoining apartments. Offer your neighbours your wireless internet and share expenses or vice versa.
Do not rush to buy new things – if in any case you have chosen an apartment without furniture, it is not the end of the world! There are several sites and groups on Facebook that will allow you to find items that people no longer need and even for free. Look at thrift stores and jumble sales – make a day of it with friends!
Pay only in cash- You will be surprised to find that by paying in cash you will pay less money. Studies show that people who use cash “spend” less, researchers say that people with more cash find it harder to part with tangible money.
