Welcome to another blog love edition – Friday’s Fab Links #38! Hope you’ve had a good week? This week has been much more productive for me in terms of juggling work and parenting whilst my little girl is home every day due to school holidays.

Because my hubby has been away a lot lately, I didn’t feel at all bad about not turning the TV on for the last week and working every evening until 11pm.

I’ve managed to write some blog posts in advance (thanks for sharing your tip last week E.M.) and do some freelancing work in addition to my day job, so things are pretty good right now!

Here are my favourite recent posts from the personal finance blogosphere:

Sheila from The Frugal Exerciser posted The 30 Day Inner and Outer Thigh Challenge. I’d like to tone up a bit so when I saw Sheila’s home workout challenge, I knew this was the perfect fitness regime to try out. I’m almost through week 1 of Sheila’s challenge and I’m really enjoying it so far! Much more than I ever enjoyed my £60 per month gym membership back in the day.

Michelle from Making Sense of Cents published her income report for last month – $14,937 in July – My Highest Income Month. Whenever I read Michelle’s income reports I am always really inspired. Michelle started out earning a little extra money a month back in 2012 and she’s achieved so much since then!

Joshua at CNA Finance published Chasing Traffic – Why Most Bloggers Fail. This is part 9 of Joshua’s series which looks at the reasons why some bloggers give up or fail with their blogs. Traffic is one thing that every blogger wants – because without readers, a blog can’t grow. In this post, Joshua explains why certain ways of getting traffic may be more of a hindrance rather than a help to a blogger.

If you’ve ever been guilty of spending mindsets such as, “it’s been a hard day, buying this will make it better!” or “everyone else has one”, you’ll enjoy this post by Dr. Jason Cabler over at Enemy of Debt – How to Talk Yourself Out of Debt by Creating a New Script. Jason explains how you can use new mindsets to stop yourself buying something that you really shouldn’t.

Announcement – Plutus Awards nominations are now open!

I’ve been waiting for the Plutus Awards to come around since last year! This is an awards ceremony which celebrates the best personal finance blogs across the globe. You can submit your vote for your favourite blogs now until 25th August, so if my blog is one of your favourites, I’d really appreciate it if you’d take the time to vote for Disease Called Debt in one (or both) of the following categories!

    • Best Debt Blog
    • Best International Personal Finance Blog

Thanks to the following for mentioning Disease Called Debt in recent carnivals or posts!

    • Top Finance Blog Posts of the month July 2014 – Cash The Checks
    • Frugal Living Tips August Edition – Frugality Magazine
    • Aspiring Blogger Carnivals – number 49 and number 50 – Aspiring Blogger

In case you missed any posts on my site this week, here they are:

Can you share that blog tip from E.M., Hayley? I’ve always had a goal to write some posts in advance but I never manage to do so. I have some half started shells but whenever I go to complete them, I feel kind of blah about them and am not inspired to write.

E.M. said about trying to write posts in advance when my little girl is in bed and freelancing work goes quiet. So last week, when I was waiting on hearing back from a client, I used every evening to get ahead with my blog and write a few more posts. I spent time coming up with a few more ideas and then was able to progress some of them. 🙂 I think the trick with writing posts ahead of schedule is dedicating some time to doing only that and trying not to get sidetracked!

When my daughter doesn’t have any class, all she does is wrapping her little arms to me and kiss me. 🙂 So, I really do understand you when it comes between work and parenting.
