3 Ways to Save Money on Skincare

Skincare products are essential to keep everyone, regardless of age or gender, looking and feeling great. Taking care of your skin is important, but the truth is, it can be quite expensive. Not everyone is willing to splurge on expensive skincare products. If this is the case for you, don’t worry! There are ways to budget and save money while ensuring that your skin is taken care of.

Keep reading to learn 3 simple ways to save money on skincare.

Avoid Luxury Brands

While your social media feeds might be flooded with advertisements for high-end skincare products that are promised to work miracles on your skin, the truth is that there is likely a drugstore product on the market that can do the same thing for a small fraction of the price. Drugstore brands like Clean and Clear, Cetaphil, and Aveeno are well known for their gentle, skin-loving ingredients that are proven effective in the treatment of dryness, acne, and other skin issues for less than half the cost of their luxury counterparts.

DIY When Possible

While some skincare products need to be purchased from beauty retailers, there are numerous products on the market that can be made at home or swapped out for cheaper, natural alternatives. For example, coconut oil can be used to remove makeup, is effective and hydrating shaving cream, and works to moisturize skin better than any body lotion on the market. Lemon water can be used to tone skin, and Vaseline or other healing ointments are one of the most hydrating lip balms available. Not everyone is able to splurge on luxury treatments from The Institute of Natural Health, but nearly everyone can try out a DIY spa treatment at home with these products! Using at-home or DIY alternatives to expensive products can be a major money saver.

Join a Subscription Service

To try out new skincare products and to have products delivered to your door each month for an affordable price, consider subscribing to a beauty subscription service like Ipsy. These services deliver bags to subscribers once a month, which come equipped with new skincare products ranging from drugstore favorites to high-end best sellers. Some products are travel-sized, and others are full-sized, making these services a great deal. This is one of the best ways to try out new products in order to find ones that are right for you, and will ensure that you never run out of products again since a bag is delivered straight to your door every month.
