Hi everyone! Hope you’ve all had a good week? Sorry if you haven’t seen me commenting on your blog recently, but guess what I’ve been doing all week?

As the title of this post suggests, I’ve been redesigning this blog that’s what! Seeing as blogging is one of my favourite hobbies and I actually spend around 20 hours per week (at least) doing stuff on here, I decided to treat myself to a new blog design.

I’ve been wanting to do a redesign for around a year now but for anyone who can remember the really old site, I made do with designing a header and improving the font in order to keep the cost down. However, I felt that it’s now time to give A Disease Called Debt a proper makeover.

Don’t worry though, I haven’t spent a fortune. I already had Genesis installed on another blog of mine, so I’ve just used this theme with a new child theme (that I’m tweaking) in addition. It set me back around Β£25 plus a little extra for a couple of plugins that I wanted.

Where is it you say? Well, I’m still working on it and testing it, but hopefully it will be ready and live next week sometime. That’s if I can figure out how to move it over to the live domain without breaking anything. Watch this space!

A little recommended reading for you

On another note, I wanted to welcome back Girl Meets Debt who has returned from a brief blogging break! Yay! I’d also like to mention a post I read over at Debt Debs, the subject of which is close to my heart called Worth it Wednesday – Can a Marriage Survive a Debt Crisis?

Hope you all have a lovely weekend!

Okay, watch this space it is. Will look forward. By the way, I think I am going to spend time reading your suggested post, Worth it Wednesday – Can a Marriage Survive a Debt Crisis? I believe I will be able to relate to it.

Wow! Will be interested in a tips and tricks post on that. BTW, I love the look of your blog now so I can just imagine your next one will be equally fabulous or even better! Thank you for the mention, Hayley! It was hard to write but feels good now I have it out. You know you were my inspiration!

I hope it will be better Debt Debs! I can say that it won’t have quite as much colour in it… not sure if that’s bad or good, but hopefully it’ll turn out ok. Will happily post a tips and tricks article if I manage to do this successfully!

I thought your article was great – this is just how debt can affect a couple and I think many couples could save themselves some stress and heartache if they were aware of the signs that there’s an issue.

You’re welcome GMD! No, my blog is not going to have a purple theme anymore… purple is still my favourite colour of course, but I’m going for something different! Have a great weekend! xo

Awesome, I can’t wait to see what you’ve come up with! I’ve been thinking about a redesign as well, but I am not sure if I want to purchase a theme or not. I know everyone raves about Genesis, and I’m sure it’s worth it, but I already had to renew my domain and hosting this month.

Yeah, it can be costly. My theme was only Β£25 but I did have to pay for Genesis at one time. I think Thesis is very good too! I used the twenty twelve theme for some time which is free and highly customisable. Good luck with whatever you decide! πŸ™‚
